Hudson Bay Blankets - 6 Point Queen Size Wool Blanket - Pink Stripe Review

This is an excellent product.

It is difficult to compare this product, because there is so much history connected with an Hudson Bay blanket. Truly, this blanket is beautiful. This Pink Stripe 100 percent wool blanket is not as cozy as a high end 100 percent cotton product. But the Pink Stripe limited edition is beautiful, and the quality is difficult to compare. For a wool blanket, this product is very approachable to the skin.

I made this blanket a gift for my 20 year old daughter. She loved it. Part of the appreciation is the history that the blanket has in North America. Part of the attraction is that this blanket may be passed down to her children, when and if she has a child. This is a quality blanket.

Honestly, this blanket received the same response as her first pair of designer shoes.

I'll bring in a Merino Wool for comparison soon.

The Victoria Merino Wool is very soft and cozy. The blanket I purchased is truly a keeper, but thinner and softer than this Hudson Bay. Both are excellent.

King Size Charcoal Color Duvet Cover-"Urban Linen" Collection Review

I wanted a linen duvet cover for my awkwardly sized Queen duvet (90" x 98"). This king size cover is 102" x 90", which is only 4" wider than my cover (the dimensions are not a mistake, this cover is wider than it is tall).

The difference of 4" is not really noticeable and using the cover sideways has the added benefit that the zipper is on the side and not at the top near my face.

The linen itself feels nice but doesn't feel quite as nice as what you'd find in foofy home stores. However, it's 3-5 times cheaper and has the dimensions I need. The charcoal color works great for me and just the fact that it's linen gives it breathability for warmer seasons. Texture looks somewhat more modern than most linen (perhaps a tighter weave).

I advise washing this twice before using and letting it tumble around in the dryer with low or no heat, just to clean it up. I only washed it once and shaking it out left a layer of grey dust on everything in the room which I would have liked to avoid.

I'm very happy with the purchase but give it 4 stars for several reasons:

- The picture used is terrible for decision making (I felt like I was gambling when I bought this).
- The feeling of the linen is not bad, but could be nicer. Hopefully it will improve with washing.
- The amount of fabric lint/dust shaken off even after one washing was pretty intense.
