Well, my last review of this product, in which I noted the positive as well as the negative, was inexplicably removed, so I'll just cut to the chase here...I have had a few chenille throws/blankets before and they have always been of high quality--tightly woven, thick and soft, almost velvety. I had never before known anything cheap, coarse, rough and thin could be called chenille. But I know now.
This Hometale product is coarsely woven with a very open weave and is no thicker than a flannel bed sheet.
Go to the Pier One Imports store and you will find a well-made, thick, soft chenille throws. They are more expensive than the Hometale ones, but you will know what a chenille blanket is supposed to be like. Then, if you can't afford to buy it there, you will at least know what to look for. You can often find good deals on the good one at Marshall's or TJ Maxx.
